Hyperion architecture: kernel KVM, QEMU device emulation, libvirt orchestration, virtio paravirtualisation, Open vSwitch networking, live migration semantics, snapshot consistency, feature parity with VMware.
Hyperion is a production layer on top of upstream Linux KVM — the same hypervisor running Google Cloud, OpenStack, AWS Nitro and Red Hat Virtualization. Syneto adds kernel patches, libvirt extensions, SyFS integration and the management UI.
"From silicon to the VM" means: CPU instructions (silicon) execute under KVM in the kernel, devices are emulated/passed-through by QEMU, libvirt + Syneto give it a control plane, and a VM boots on top. That whole path is Hyperion.

Snapshot on VMware. SyFS captures a Recovery Point of the original VMDK as rollback safety net.
OVA / OVF export. SynetoOS imports VM definition and disk(s) into a SyFS volume.
virt-v2v swaps drivers in-place: LSI Logic → virtio-scsi, VMXNET3 → virtio-net. No guest reinstall.
VM boots under Hyperion. Operational test. If anything misbehaves: revert to step-1 Recovery Point.
Any Hyperion VM can be exported back to OVA and re-imported into vSphere. Symmetric.
